A Sailor's Tale

 Aye, there she stands, the old girl, South Manitou. A beacon of hope in a sea of storms. I've seen her from miles out, her white tower piercing the sky like a mast reaching for the heavens. Many a night, I've steered my ship by her steady light, thankful for her guidance.

She's stood tall for over a century, braving the wrath of Lake Michigan's gales and the biting cold of winter. Her foundation is as solid as the rocks she rests upon, and her lantern shines as bright as the stars above.

They say that spirits haunt her halls, tales of shipwrecks and lost souls. But to me, she's a friend, a constant companion on my voyages. And when I'm far from home, her light is a comforting reminder that land is near.
